Description: Marking a significant evolution in the studio’s practice, Linea I & Linea II represent Alan’s first foray into carved sculpture. The collection explores the interplay between wood’s organic patterns and geological history. The sculptures feature a fluid-form hand-carved from oak hardwood, grounded by a plinth of polished coral-fossil Kilkenny limestone. This juxtaposition of organic wood grain, carved patterns, and fossilised stone invites observers to reflect on the dynamic relationship between nature’s present state and ancient geological processes. The sculptures are made from natural/ebonised oak and coral-fossil Kilkenny limestone.
